I hate star tournament. I lose progress on lots of activities when I start star tournament. Then I have to start again when it finishes. Can you get rid of it?

60 levels should be enough for being at least 3rd on Weekly Contest on many weeks though at first you may not be at least third for the first few weeks with just 60 levels as you'll face difficult opponents. With fewer levels, you'll sacrifice the Chocolate Box changes but you'll have at least easier opponents on Weekly Contest (The latter which I like as I managed to get two podium medals for two weeks and the recent ones was a Silver one). Should I reach third or second place this week, I will have won the Podium Prize.
You can finish many events with it including Don't Feed the Troll for this week but not some like Weekly Contest and Chocolate Box (For tasks that require new level wins only). However, I'm unable to reach to higher places on that tournament lately due to its minimal usage of this event (Being used just for some events only)
Most players are happy with the speed of production of new levels @MarilynRules. 60 levels per week are pretty well enough for nearly every player of the game, and I cannot see King changing this for a handful of players for whom it is not enough.
There is a way out of your dilemma if you truly feel you are not getting enough Candy Crush each week for your needs: Open a second account and start a brand new game from scratch. It is possible to play hundreds of levels in one week, but this is not going to happen at the end of the map, never, ever. New players get all the events, and you should find them challenging and fun. You might be surprised how little difference in difficulty and challenge there is between the first 1000 and the last 1000 levels of the game. King have changed the game to be much more uniform in the past two years. Use a King account with a different email address, and it's best to use a different device, so only one account per device.
Maybe they could make new levels a bit quicker.
You don't mean this. You mean that you want more new levels. If they get rid of the Star Tournament with no other changes, it just means you're at the end of the map with nothing to do but play old levels. Removing the Star Tournament won't help you at all.
