Is Candy Crush Saga just pay to play at upper levels? Can’t find any way to move up because it is impossible to win gold bars and you can’t win a level without using gold bars. Such a shame.
Yes, if you have used up all your gold bars it's pay to play. Candy Crush is now about gold budgeting. It is possible to make gold fairly easily in the first 5000 or so levels. I have played those levels repeatedly in the past year and always made a few thousand gold bars profit. Once you get to higher levels the game starts to penalise players who still have a lot of gold in reserve and make them spend it in hope that all the gold will get used up and that they will then start to spend some real money. The aim of the business is to make a handsome financial profit for the company and shareholders, of course.
