It's so misleading how they worded it! I absolutely understand how you got that mixed up and I bet lots of others get it wrong too.
Even I was not sure about it until I could check it out for myself yesterday in my own game. That "offer" is the most misleading thing King have come up in the game.

@christinewupp Maybe I read it incorrectly but this one said pass this tier to receive 30 gold bars. That’s why I took a screenshot because I never saw it before.

If I click on the green "unlock tier" I get this:
This is the pointless "unlock tier" function. If your hand slips and you click on it by mistake you might think this is a new feature. In reality it is as old as Season Pass but usually we do not click on the "unlock tier" tab. It costs 30 gold bars further up the Season Pass, which is where you saw the similar offer which you asked about.
If anyone answered you differently they were a bot or were using an automated reply function without having read your question properly.
This is not a reward, but it is a trick to get players to spend gold bars for a useless feature.
Never click on it as you can use old levels to progress in Season Pass for free.
@christinewupp I reached out to support and they said it might be a new feature later on. The season gold pass was offering me a sale of 1.99 instead of 4.99. They awarded me 10000 coins for this incident in CCSOL.
That symbol is a payment symbol. Had you had 30 gold in your account and clicked on it (by mistake) then the 30 gold would have been taken away.
I agree that just looking at it, it could actually be quite misleading @Deal_One . But this screenshot is the game asking YOU to pay 30 gold bars if you want to skip a tier. It's the exact opposite of what you thought it was.
@QueenB This was my first time seeing this in my game. It said I would receive 30 gold bars if I passed all the tiers. The gold pass was separate offering me to purchase for 1.99 instead of 4.99.
Hey @Deal_One, thanks for sharing this, I can see how that pop-up could be confusing.
Just to clarify, the 30 Gold Bars shown there are not a reward. That pop-up is giving you the option to spend 30 Gold Bars to upgrade to Gold Pass which is completely optional.
If you don’t choose that option, you can still progress normally by passing levels to complete the tier, without paying any Gold Bars.

Season Pass does not give you free gold. To the contrary, you were offered the option to pay 30 gold to move up a tier (never do that).
Hello @Deal_One, I am confused by your question. I am not aware of gold bars being a free reward in the Season Pass event in Candy Crush Saga. I currently don't have the Season Pass event in my CCS game, so I can't check it out.
