Considering the complaints regarding the Wheel Of Fortune that some people have in their games at the moment it got me to thinking about other changes from the past that King might reintroduce.
One thing that they could bring back to ruin Candy Crush in 2026 is the removal of gold as a prize in the Episode Race.

I am just back from replaying what I thought was the good old 1000 milestone and found instead a ludicrously redesigned board. The former level was already a redesigned "boom boom win " board; but this new one is totally useless.
I am trying to find your "funeral post for level 1000" to no avail @christinewupp . Could you please give me a link?
Indeed, the "gold inventory" test failed. The strategy is: if you are in an unfavorable test group, then don't play the game at all.
This is what I fear might happen in CCS, but all hope is not lost yet, even for Soda, so don't give up hope yet @nekocat . So far they claim it's a test.

We all did here but who cares, really? The only result that would be significant is if Soda players uninamously stop playing or delete the game (which won't happen). And anyway we will be replaced by new players who will be only offered the new version (ban on old levels) and would not know otherwise.
It is likely that work is on the way to discontinue any features like the chocolate boxes and season pass which can still earn us free boosters without playing new levels, so this would be part of the same plan I suppose. However I agree that it would be a hugely unpopular move and if Soda players vote unanimously against it we might be spared this nonsense in Candy Crush Saga.
Real people react in ways the AI cannot predict, so it is still important for King to listen to feedback from real players. I hope in this case that they will.
Heavy opposition has already been present in this test feature.
Returned to Candy Crush Soda Saga. I am not one of those to lose the ability to play old levels.
If this was in Candy Crush Saga as well, it would create the following issues for the events that work with old levels still:
This development of not being able to replay old is not my liking on King games that have levels unless it is a recent game (And has frequent free ways to get unstuck on the game easily) like Candy Crush Solitaire. This was the reason I started to play the now-discontinued Pet Rescue Puzzle Saga game less after that game lost the ability to replay old levels.
I have decided not to engage in the box at all if all four of the tasks are collect candy colors in new level wins. I would just let it expire.

I've found something else they can ruin later on this year, and it's probably being discussed in the virtual boardroom meetings right now:
Apparently it's already being tested at Soda: Looking forward and ahead only is the game's future, so no more being able to replay any old level. No wonder I got a "haha" from the CM when posting a funeral post for level 1000. They are just laughing at those of us who still live in the past. Well if they want this to be the future of King games then at least you won't have to ask for a go-to button any more @Carol-38 . There will be nothing to go to.
Add more gold box objectives that require collecting special candies or combinations from new levels, along with the checkmark besides the objective item. I have limited most playing days on weekends only.

I know @christinewupp . It was removed a day before All Stars began, along with a few others that were strategic, confusing, or just unusual. The game is just faceless now. It's time to move on.
