I am having trouble logging into my king account in the Candy Crush app

I recently made a King account and set it up with a strong password and have activated the email address. However when I am trying to log in to the account in the Candy Crush app it says the password is incorrect and the reset password function does not send a password reset link to my email address. Is there something I am missing?
