I was #1 for a long time but this player caught up and won the episode race. I am having difficulty on this level. The color bombs
always drop down with 0 moves left. I keep trying to beat it. I have wasted a lot of lives on this level.

I was in 5th place and now I’m in 8th place but no lives, no boosters and no gold bars, I was saving them for the All Stars but I decided not to play in it this year. I’ll just play normal not to compete. The game is too hard and with this economy, King ain’t getting my money so they can make the game as hard as they want too, they not getting my money. I play to pass the time because it’s no fun anymore.
We can't help you with this level. This one may not have a possible board that you will be able to pass no matter how often you keep trying.
I am sorry it has come to this. You need to just play one or two episodes per day, never more, that is always what I advise: Players who play too quickly and pass too many level very quickly will see their games get harder all of a sudden. The app tracks how we play. So to get back on your feet you need to give the game a rest. It's what I would do.
I understand how you feel though. You still have multiplier tokens for the Valentine event: If you manage to pass this one level in the next 24 hours you can still enter the knockout round and if you then use your tokens you might qualify for the final. But you would not stand a chance in the final. To win that and get the top prize players need a lot of gold and boosters, which you don't have.
I honestly don't know any tips on how to pass this level other than pay ten gold bars or use a party popper or UFO when you have four moves left. None of these boosters can be earned for free right now. This game wants you to start to spend money. King are running a business, they want your hard earned cash.
This is also keeping me from the Valentine’s Quest. I came #1 in the qualifiers. So I don’t know how it will go in the knockout round if I ever make it there.
