@johamilton @MountainMom @QueenB I know there is a thread on this already but we should have the option to opt out of playing Candy Royale. It gets frustrating having to close the app and reopen it a few times.
There are dozens of threads about this already, not just one. If you put "opt out of Candy Royale" into the search box at the top of this page you will find just a few of them. As this has been complained about for at least three years I don't think the moderators or admin can do anything about it now. All our feedback has long been passed on to the team. The team that writes the game have not listened to player complaints about this in the past.
Personally I would like the choice to opt out of every event so I don't get all those pop-ups while I am trying to win a purple collection leaderboard, starting with the new Season Pass add-on "quests" that keep popping up blocking our screens even after we've finished and claimed all 10 tiers.
In fact one of my games does not get the Candy Royale pop-up any more and I don't like it: Twice I forgot I was competing in it and mistakenly chose to fail and replay a level due to there being no reminder about Candy Royale. I lost out on a lot of gold once due to this. In that account I only have the widget on the left, but no pop-ups.
