Blocks with nimbers

I’m stuck trying to eliminate the last of blocks with numbers in them. Tried bombs, striped candies, fish and when almost board cleared I can’t get from 14 or 5 down to zero.

not sure what it takes to get them completed

im at level 8719 and stuck haha.

Those are order locks and what is depicted inside them is what you need to open them. As there are no rainbow twists on this board nor any means to create more there seems to be no way to pass this level from the point of your screenshot. So don't waste boosters or gold. You need to quit the level and replay it. Then think of what might create these rainbow twists. Is there a magic mixer that produces them? If so, then make sure you don't destroy it before it has spewed out what you need to open those order locks.

Some of these older levels in the ranges of the game are still those once lovingly written by humans and some of these require some thought processes to look at what needs to be achieved. But rest assured King are in the process of eliminating all intelligent levels that need player to still think, so soon this level will disappear and be replaced by some marshmallow or lemon slice rubbish and then all you have to do is strike a double super charger or play a couple of party poppers and you're done. Those boxes with numbers only open once you have collected what is depicted on them. The numbers show how many you need. In this case, rainbow twists are needed (blockers on the sides of the board).

However, those rainbow twists present on the starting board are not enough to open the boxes. The magic mixers (which you've already destroyed) are required to produce more. You will have to replay the level and avoid destroying the magic mixers early so that they can produce as many rainbow twists as needed.

Once the mixers produce enough twists and you have collected them, the boxes will open.
