When it comes to issues with receiving lives @tiffers1971 no one here can really tell you what is going on.

All you can do is request lives from all of your friends as often as you think is acceptable and see how many people respond.

It is not a reliable method but check the Player Cards of all your friends and find out which of them do not send any lives. If you find a player that is always requesting lives but never sends any then consider removing that player.

Sharing your friends link here and adding new friends to your list can sometimes work as a method of receiving more lives
