Extra Moves are changed

I've come up against a difficult (not impossible) level that I failed 5 or 6x. Each time I was offered only 5 extra moves for 10 gold instead of it progressing to 15, 25, etc. I think it was on my 6th try that I was offered something like 55 extra moves. Honestly, I'm not playing that much any more only when really bored so if I pass or fail it really doesn't matter. Still have plenty of gold and boosters left from All Stars but don't care enough to use them to pass levels. I just found this to be another "icky" twist to the game that confirms my decision to move away from playing as much as I used to. Wonder if anyone else has seen this.

I sometimes get +7 moves offered at the first fail. I've been wondering if that's because the app knows that 7 moves are required to pass. Today I got 5 moves +UFO once as well after the first fail. There is a lot of testing going on right now. And not much else.

They are experimenting. There was even a roulette that you had to spin to determine the number of extra moves. It caused a lot of discontent to those affected and is now removed, I think.

I had a similar non-standard extra moves progression once: 5, 5 + UFO, 5, 35 + UFO, 15, 55 + UFO, then adding 10 extra moves after each failure. It lasted for a week, then returned to the normal progression. Cost me more lives than usual and was mildly annoying.
