These are my tips from personal experiences while travelling on trains, where I often lose connection due to poor signal
These suggestions are in addition to the official recommendations you will find in the Help Centre .
Candy Crush can be played offline or online. Some events do not work offline, others do.
Gold bar prizes cannot be claimed while offline. So it is important when finishing Candy Royale or the Episode Race that you get connected to the server when you reach the end!
Online means that you are connected to King's Server. It is possible to be connected to the internet, but offline for Candy Crush. The two are not the same: You need a lot of data to play Candy Crush, much more than sending messages or emails. I find that only a stable wifi or good 5G signal will allow seamless and uninterrupted play of Candy Crush.
You have to play one level to load all your events. So the weekly contest for example will not load until you have played one level. You may play an old level and/or fail to load events.
If you lose connection:
- Close the app
- Check your signal/wifi
- Reopen the app
- Check you are connected to the server: I still think the best way to ensure this is to click on any player avatar. You can click on your own avatar on the map screen: If the player card loads you are connected to King's server
- If player cards won't load repeat process 1-4 or choose to play offline:
Offline play:
If you are offline you will see:
- Your gold balance
- Some events, such as the daily treat machine, season pass, critter catch
- the train and fishing boat offers show up offline
- lives from friends can be used
- if you fail a level you will be offered 5 extra moves for 10 gold bars
- boosters from your inventory can be used, but you cannot purchase anything with gold or money, nor use ads
❗️ If you lose connection while playing it is not always obvious. ❗️
Here I was travelling and had lost connection. It's so easy to miss:
I have just won the episode race but noticed my gold was not added to my account. It is very easy to miss this! The fact my gold was not added was the only obvious sign I had lost connection to the server. Everything else is just the same as it was when I was connected to the Server. The game still shows me in first place but my avatar is ready to start the next race, so it's not too late to claim the prize.
I closed and reopened the app:
Now there is an exclamation mark next to the episode race flag. I click on that to claim the gold bars I am due before playing on to start the next race.
This is due to intermittent loss of contact to the server. If we lose contact intermittently the widgets stay in place, so it is really easy to miss the fact that we have lost contact. I therefore recommend you check connection to the server (e.g. by clicking on your avatar to bring up the player card) frequently and at key moments, such as while playing Candy Royale. The app will store your level progress and it will also store you progress for events, so to close the app and reload it is always safe to do. You do not risk losing anything if you close the app after you have moved on to the next level. When you reload on the same device, offline or online, you start at the same point. (To synch to another device you need to connect to the server).
❗️Watching Ads for extra moves:
If you rely on watching ads for extra moves be aware that if your internet connection isn't perfectly stable you will risk the ad hanging up. This is a risk, so if you find this happens to you, or if you know your signal is unreliable, be aware of this:
❗️If the game hangs up for any reason whilst you are playing a level you do lose the win streak and any win streak related benefits (super charger, Candy Royale). There is no way to reinstate any of these even if you have proof and contact player support. So if you find that ads tend to hang up on you then don't watch them unless you are prepared to take that risk. The game can be played using gold bars and boosters to win levels. If I am expecting a good prize from Candy Royale I always use this option and never watch ads. If you have a good amount of gold in your inventory it's the safest option.
These tips work for me 100% of the time for my King Accounts and my unsaved games. I play on Apple devices. It may be different for users of other devices or those playing via Facebook.
