Why did my pins icon at the bottom of my screen always show an exclamation point? I have opened it and nothing is there. I have even un-installed and re-installed the app and it still is there. Please help!

Thanks for sharing the screenshot!
Could you please try opening the Pins section and checking the Pin collections inside? Sometimes the exclamation mark on the main Pins icon stays there because there is still a new Pin, reward, or notification waiting inside one of the collections.
If you see any small notification marks inside the Pins screen, try tapping on each one, then close the Pins screen and return to the map. That should usually clear the exclamation mark from the main icon.
If the exclamation mark is still showing after you’ve checked through the collections, please share a screenshot of what you see inside the Pins section, and we’ll take another look.

I would also try to log out and back in to the game and check the internet connection on the device
