🔄 New Pins Feature: Pin Trades Is Here! Learn How It Works

A new Candy Pins collection has started, and this season is called Blocker Bonanza.

This time, some players may also see a new Trades tab in the Pins feature, because we are testing a new way to trade Pins.

If you spot it in your game, keep reading below to see where to find it and how it works. Then vote in the poll and tell us what you think.

🔄 How does Pin Trading work?

If you have the Trades tab in your game, you can use it to swap duplicate Pins for Pins you still need.

Open the Pins feature from the bottom menu.
Tap the Trades tab.

Choose a missing Pin you want.
The game will show players who have that Pin available.
Tap Request.
Choose one of your duplicate Pins to send if the trade is accepted.
Wait for the other player to accept the request.
Check the Active trades screen to follow the status.

📌 Good to know

The Pins shown in the trade screen are Pins you do not already have.
You can only send one of your duplicate Pins.
The trade is not complete until the other player accepts it.
If you do not see the Trades tab yet, that is okay. The feature is still rolling out in stages.
Players may have Collection 8 even if they do not yet have Pin Trading.

Hi @QueenB 🌺

I may have left a comment earlier about the Pun Collection. I do not have the trade tab yet but it sounds much better than how it used to be. I couldn’t remember which pins I needed when the trade tab used to appear on the game map and also most of the time trading ended before I could reach it. I hope this will be easier and the trading window is open longer.

The pins feature is a single player event and your progress is not related to what other players do! @Spinnifix I prefer to ignore the pin swap and never use it. You can use the pin sparks in the chest to get good rewards and the 80 pin sparks chest will give you a pin you do not yet have, so I find that a much more useful way to get all the pins and reach the gold reward.

Whilst it might be expected behaviour from a feature that I am using @QueenB it shouldn't be the expected behaviour of a tutorial. I should always be provided the option of exiting a tutorial. I should be able to play my game without interference from the features. That is, features should always enhance the gaming experience and not provide a negative experience.

@Alienscar I’ve checked with the team and the Pin Trading tutorial does let you choose from your duplicate Pins.
If you only have one duplicate available, then that is the only one that will show up, which is why it can feel a bit forced.
So if the tutorial is only showing one option, that would be expected.

From what you describe @Alienscar it sounds like the tutorial is asking you to trade one specific Pin so you can move past that step. I am checking this with the team to confirm.
Could you please send me a screenshot of the exact step where the game asks you to pick the Pin to trade? That will help me see exactly where you are in the tutorial and pass the feedback on properly. Thanks!

I like the pin exchange, but I don't achieve much. There are many players who are faster than me. Maybe there should be another category for this. I would have posted in this category otherwise. Is that possible? I know that my vote counts now.

So to see if I understand you correctly @QueenB, what you are saying is that I have to swap a Pin that I want to keep for one that I don't want in order to continue to play my game?

I've shared your feedback with the team that being required to complete the tutorial before returning to the game isn't a great experience for players who aren't interested in the feature.

From what I've been told, you do need to complete the tutorial once before you can continue playing. After that, it shouldn't appear again.

Just one last question to make sure we're not missing an issue: after you've completed the tutorial, does it still appear the next time you open the game, or does everything return to normal?

If it keeps showing up even after you've finished it once, I'll report that back to the team as well.

Just so I understand correctly, are you unable to continue playing until you complete the Pin Trading tutorial, or is it that the tutorial keeps appearing and you would prefer to skip it?

Yes @QueenB even after closing the game and reopening it the trading tutorial is the first that that appears.

@QueenB I can't play my game because of this new feature. Every time I select the map button the Trading feature intro pops up.

I have no interest in trading a pin I have for one that I don't. I also have no interest in completing the Pin sets.

The team responsible for the introduction of this feature should realise that we all play the game for different reasons and should automatically include a way of letting players exit the tutorial without having to complete the tutorial.
