Evaluation on the new booster designs

You might be familiar with those in Soccer Season.

The only comment is that the new booster logos do not fit with the art style of Candy Crush. Thank god the free switch and striped brush got the new booster logo, so it is reassuring.

What we really do not want is the "simpler set of boosters" and the ongoing test on free switches. Based on the booster set of both the sequels and rivals, the set of boosters would be the lollipop hammer, cross lollipop hammer (equivalent to the arrow and cannon), shuffle, and no free switch. I frequently and strategically used these boosters in my livestreams.

My verdict is still: oppose the new graphics. The simpler set of boosters: contraindication.

The new booster designs are a test feature for now @__mulliganaceous__ . I have seen these new designs, but thankfully only in one of my accounts. There must be someone who infiltrated the design studio and is actively sabotaging the game by introducing features that only appeal to toddlers.

As for your interpretation that this makeover might mean there is hope for the future of the free switch and hand brush, I cannot see how one would lead to the other. The design team just do graphics. Decisions about boosters come from a different team altogether.

I am not sure if there is any overarching concept for the future of Candy Crush, or that the different teams interact or communicate with each other. Candy Crush decisions all seem to be about fixing of glitches and streamlining to make the game run more smoothly for people all over the world on all sorts of devices, intermittent internet connections and failing batteries. I suspect that the threat to further simplify the booster choices must be for technical reasons, to save on computing power and further unify the game into one big mush of almost identical levels, all with the same basic underlying algorithm. The AI cannot compute options it has not specifically itself written into the level design. Playing several accounts I cannot fail to note the uniformity and predictability of the basic algorithms: All the Skull levels require the use of one or two specific booster(s) , +/- buying one set of gold bars), to pass on a first attempt, which is clearly written into the design of the boards players see. So if players use different boosters by for example placing a striped candy next to a colour bomb, then the app cannot compute this easily and so cannot ensure a player fails those levels they are meant to fail and spend X amount of gold bars to pass and to keep the wins streak. Since the aim of the game is to ensure that all players will spend some money, using boosters not written into the algorithms is undesirable for King.

Since the AI took over all of this has become amplified. There is no turning back to the old days of the game we used to love. I fear all of this cannot now be unwritten.

We all hope King will come to their senses and stop the infantile graphics and stop the drive to dumb down and unify the game. I remain hopeful that those two boosters will remain in the game. When the old staff leave and someone new takes over maybe better changes will come. But, as I've said many times, the best way to improve the game would be to bring real people back.
