This is a test to see how many reactions will be given against the amount who view this post.

I've noticed many read posts but either don't think it's worth a reaction, or don't know what they are. Reactions are at the bottom of a post as shown

The light bulb being 'Helpful' , the thumbs up being 'Like' the heart being 'Love' the smiley face being 'Haha'

Let's see how many reactions this post can get against those viewing it. Those who know what I'm doing will probably give a Haha or a Love. Those who didn't know what reactions were, will probably give a Helpful. Those who really couldn't care less, may give a Sweet, just to be kind.

So look forward to seeing how my test does 😀

I've always said that a 'THANK YOU' would be nice. I don't really like the constant thanking of every player, as it drives everything up and the post ends up being too crowded. That's not necessary.
There were many in favor of it, but you can see what has come of it.

So what are you saying now, that a reply thanking someone would be better than a Helpful, Sweet or Love reaction.

I think you are overthinking what is being said, and you seem to be the one stressing yourself out over what we are saying. It's absolutely fine if you don't think a post deserves one, just don't give it, like you said you don't anyway.

Out of interest, how did you get to be Legend, did you sit for hours a day in the counting games, or did you get it by others giving you a reaction, would be nice to know 🤔

When I read all this, I'm slowly getting the feeling that it's becoming an obligation, rather than being seen as voluntary.

To be honest, if it becomes an obligation, I would like to see this reaction abolished.

Because to be honest, I also read a lot, but that's about it and I don't give any feedback.

I think you can see the number of observers or those who have read it. That's much more valuable than these reactions.

If someone has something to say, they respond with a comment, and you can interpret it for yourself as you see fit.

Please don't stress yourself out with the reactions. Life is already stressful enough.

That's my opinion and it's not meant to be a criticism. No, it's just well-intentioned advice.

Ummm you say many posts I have commented on and not given a reaction to lately 😧. It is possible I may miss a few or don't put anything because there isn't a reaction for 'Silly' or 'You What'. But in the main I do remember, I'll have to have a check at some stage.

It's not just about the Path to Legend though, as that's a bit of a joke, won't say any more about that. But it is quite nice to have a small reaction after bothering to answer and try and help someone. Also for those taking the time to post something, it's nice to acknowledge them. Let's hope it is checked to see if there is a Vanilla problem or not 🙃

I have noticed the same thing Carol and, for me, it is odd that given the onus on 'community' and the seeming importance of the Path to Community Legend that the people that are officially running and managing this forum don't use the reactions on a regular basis.

That said I have also noticed that there are quite a few posts where you have commented and not reacted lately. Why would that be Carol?

Thing is I am now wondering if there is an issue with the reactions that I have posted about in my Issues with Vanilla thread

So you took what I posted about, that I was posting about myself?

My post was a test to see how many who looked at a post would make a reaction, or actually knew what a reaction was. Being a Moderator, you would/should know all about reactions, and the reasons they are here. One reason, giving a polite response to the author when making a reply, or after reading, and the other to give a few points nudging them at some stage, to the next Rank.

There are some regular Community members who always give reactions, but I have seen many posts, in fact the majority of posts, across the whole of the Community, that have received a reply, but no reaction is given at all, why. Those replying also include Moderators, CM's and Game Experts, it only takes a second, so why are the reactions ignored. In fact the only Community member who actually gives a reaction to just about every post, even though she doesn't make a comment, is Diamond_Lim, again why. Unfortunately it's something else that seems to have changed or being forgotten about.

It wasn't that long ago where some members used to have at the end of their post, "If you are happy with what I have put, please react helpful", why would they have put that?

So to end, thank you for what you said, about Christine and myself, although it wasn't about either of us, it was a post to see why we still have reactions, and why they are not being used.

Why is it actually so important to you to get reactions to your posts? Is it because of the community badges 😂, or because it makes you feel more valued? I imagine it’s certainly the latter, because your posts—and Christine’s—are truly invaluable. 🤗

@Carol-38, I think a lot of players are lurkers and do not bother to react. Some players are just here for information about the game because this is the most reliable place to obtain info. It is good for players to react to one another, this keeps players more motivated to participate even it one doesn't care about points.

As MannyFae already said, as soon as you access a post, it's counted. It doesn't matter how many times you've viewed the post. I noticed it in my profile under 'Visits'. If I always look at my profile, it counts. Normally, it shouldn't be the case when you're the person with your own profile. But that's how it is.
