Music Season levels

I'm starting a thread on the end of episode music season levels. These are my two versions of the first board:

The beginner's version:

Not surprisingly this board is passable without boosters.

Advanced version:

Unsurprisingly this version failed on first attempt. I got close enough to pass with 5 extra moves a couple of times, but opted not to do so. On the above board I had the train offer and played one single party popper on my third move, which helped pass the level with no further boosters.

Generally from my past experience with these end of episode special boss levels I would say that playing a party popper on the first three moves generally leads to a pass. There is usually no way to pass these without paying gold for extra moves or playing boosters (UFO or party popper).

I love the music symbols on top of the licorice, by the way. Now those are nice graphics!

Is anyone seeing a different version to the two above? Like an intermediate version?

Your test group is so mean. Anyone mad enough to play this event to the very end would earn 800 gold bars.

The levels do indeed change when you circle round this event:

This version of board no.10 has more cages, but also more moves than the previous advanced version I played here:

So it's not quite clear which version is harder.

I have also found that once you get to the end and claim the 200 gold the event will continue and in fact there are another three points, which award 100 gold each, so anyone mad enough to play this event to the very end would earn 500 gold bars and few party poppers from it. The end appears to be after replay 18:

I don't think I'll make it that far……

It's the end of the season and nobody really cares anymore, but I got a board with thicker blockers on my second (and subsequent) attempts. I think I’ll just stop and wait for this Punishment Season to end.

Intermediate version is too similar with the advanced version at first but it lacks order locks present in the advanced version and the former may give more moves than the latter difficulty.

Why ever would you say that and then not tell me which level is a duplicate so that I can edit out the mistake? I've put so much effort into this with near zero computer skills, I do deserve a little bit of help here from you.

If you check my previous post, I said 20 different board not 21. You have posted one duplicate and the then wrong in sequence.

Finally I think I've got all of them. My beginner is seeing a repeat at level 440, which is also where there is a bug that makes me replay the level and then awards the next disk. (So it's a good bug)

The problem is I don't know how to post them all in a nice neat format. I'm adding all the harder versions to all the previous easy ones as comparisons. This website is driving me mad, so I'll just post this now because whenever I'm editing it's trying to "navigate to draft", and that is making the editing hell right now.

Edit: So I've done my editing now and will add the levels still missing now. @michimune you are correct: there seem to be 21 of them. You're probably laughing your head off at me trying to get screenshots of them all when you had them tucked up your sleeve all along, but thanks for the help, I've succeeded my own way.

If there is anyone tech savvy here who can neatly put all these in a nice format I'd be very grateful. I just can't do it any other way than I have done.

These are the next levels for the beginner account. I'll continue with the numbering where I left off and will have to relabel the harder (18,000+ account) versions, since they mostly seem to be very different from these.

These were all easy to pass with the super charger and double colour bombs. This is an exceptionally easy account with lots of lucky boards all around, so maybe it's easy because of the test group I'm in.

Board 14 I failed on my first attempt but got a lot of luck on attempt no.2 that helped me pass without boosters.

The above is my second attempt after I deliberately failed on the first (I would have passed but wanted to run a little test). (I'm writing about the new player version here) This time I tested out what would happen if I played entirely only the hints and nothing but the hints.

I failed but was offered 15 additional moves:

I had already seen some wrap + stripe combos fall for me plus one fish + wrap combo, which seemed to be part of the standard algorithm for players who follow the hints algorithm for this level (The very simple hints algorithm is: 1. play any combo involving special candies 2. create a special candy 3. make the lowest move available on the board. Hints are strictly based on this priority sequence)

I continued playing only the hints. And passed in exactly these 15 additional moves I'd been given:

I should have played the more obvious moves to finish with two or three moves left, because by playing to the last move I had the horrible scary Yeti flash up at me. But I wanted to see if the app would keep helping me if I followed the now useless looking hints. It did: the blue match three was the final hint, because it involved a fish, so it was hint priority no.1: any combo involving special candies.

This little experiment goes to show just how tediously pre written these levels are. It's obvious a computer programme wrote these. So any child was supposed to pass this one on their second attempt if paying 10 gold bars.

You're correct. No. 2 is with 18 moves on our games but the difference in actual move count is due to you getting 3 extra moves from a lower win streak bag and me getting a single ones from the 6th win streak bag. Next Wednesday I will be exploring the 2nd loop of this season so expect more level pics to come from me in the next days.

I hope I'm not boring people with posting these. I'll just carry on with the advanced player at the moment. Here is one more from yesterday:

Today I've played these:

The double colour bomb was not enough to pass and I required 7 extra moves (which I was offered for 10 gold) as well.

and this one:

Whatever strategy I tried (and I did vary them) the result was always that one party popper was not enough to pass. I always had to either play a UFO as well or pay for additional moves. These levels are horrible:

They all have five colours and not dispensers of any special candies, so players are entirely at the mercy of what the game chooses to drop. In my case they are only ever the right candies after I have paid for the extra moves. Here a rundown of what happened when I the above board:

So I didn't get very close with four moves left. This time I'd tried to do it without party popper. I thought I might try a UFO here:

I thought maybe something lucky might happen, but the outcome wasn't great:

I did play to make the stripe + colour bomb combo:

But it wasn't enough. It was nowhere near enough. I had to either give up or pay, not sure if seven moves would be enough:

Here the board at this point:

There is a fish+stripe combo and though there are other good moves I chose to play the suggested combo, because I was hoping that the game would help me now to pass. The outcome was quite good:

A second UFO would have cleared this, but I played these moves to see if the app would at some point give me a little bit of help:

So it is now giving me a wrap + stripe combo with four moves left. I'm not altogether sure how I did that…..but I'll take it.

I do as I'm told now: make the red wrap.

and again I do as I'm told and make the four match to create a purple stripe, which all blows up and leads to this:

Like so often the algorithm has decided I need some explicit help, so it does it all for me and leaves me with this simple 3 match to finish the level.

The reason I've included this is to illustrate that the app decides what it takes to finish these levels, and if you play it sensibly, you will pass without retrying these levels for hundreds of attempts. This particular level required one UFO and 10 gold bars. I have found that all of these now require two of the following:

a party popper
a double colour bomb combo
10 gold for extra moves
a UFO
sometimes a lollipop if you spot the right moment to play it

if you wish to pass on your first attempt. Further attempts may be cheaper and only require one of the above, but if you are looking for a no boosters solution I'd advise you to pack your bags and go on holiday until this event is over.

These levels definitely increase in difficulty.

I can change the numbers once I have seen all the versions and get some order into them. I think I might then number them in the sequence in which new players will see them and add the ones only seen by the advanced player at the end.

That is assuming I get to see them all. I might die of boredom before then.

I'm calling them levels 11,12, and 13 for now, but that might change if I see a counterpart in the new account.

They are 14, 15 and 16.

Okay, I got a bit muddled here so this is an edit:

Number 9:

It starts off with a double super charger, so is passable.

I think this one is unique so far, and the next levels seem to also be different between the two accounts, so let me continue with just the new player at this point:

I can't actually see much of difference here to the new player version.

So no major difficulties so far for the new account. These levels seem easier and more fun to a new player than some of the regular levels, some of which are quite nasty. I had to spend some gold bars on the regular levels, but not yet for these "boss" levels. I guess the game wants new players to enjoy this music collection. By this time I've already collected three out of nine sets!

Another fine illusion by the game:

The first three sets are a lot easier to get because the levels are really easy to pass
The final two sets are bigger, so will take longer to finish

I've been panicking about potential changes in the game so been rushing through these in both accounts now. The app repeats levels for the pre win streak account now, so level 155 was identical to level 95, level 170 was the same as level 110 etc.

I think therefore that this is the true

Number 6:

No double super charger for my first level with super charger active, but easy to pass anyway.

The bottom version same as always: You will either fail, or pass if you play a party popper as your first move.
