I just recently started playing again, the game is still as satisfying as ever though not as nostalgic, with the story and classic music gone. Anyways, I wanted to share a few ideas that might not be taken into consideration, but I think they would be fun to see in the game. I hope my post respects the rules and doesn't contain too many ideas that might have been shared before, though I tried looking up a few things and not too much stuff came up. Anyways, I'd really like to see the story making a comeback, in a way that changes the gameplay to keep it entertaining for those who are so used with the classic game or annoyed by level difficulty (i would also suggest a different approach on level difficulty since the game is highly based on RNG which makes hard levels more annoying rather than challenging, but the rules don't allow that). Basically, there would be a Story Mode, separate from the classic mode since there are too many levels now. Like the rest of the game, it would be constantly updated, but it would be very different and add a different challenge aspect that would change based on the story, giving the game a fresh new way to play for those who are so used with the normal game and no longer find it as enjoyable after thousands of similar levels. The Story Mode would be separated into different regions and parts, each with specific gameplay mechanics, following the girl helping various creatures across the Candy Kingdom or defeating villains. For example, one part of the story mode would take place in a volcanic region, with a boss threatening to turn all candy into a giant mass of molten sugar. Each level of this part of the Story Mode would have specific mechanics, such as a wave of molten sugar covering a few candies every few turns that also hardens if it isn't broken in time, or spreads if the player fails to hit it or takes too long to fully remove it. The boss fight aspect would also be a bit different from the basic game. The boss would stand somewhere at the top of the screen and would taunt the player or even have different phases. Bosses would have a HP bar that would go down differently with each of them. One boss would be weak to a specific type of candy you have to match, another boss would be defeated by overstuffing it with the specific candy that its asking for until it can't eat anymore and it gives up on its plans of eating all the candy in the world, or maybe another area would have magic candy with different buffs that have to be used to beat the levels and the boss. Bosses could also be able to interact with the candy table, placing obstacles and other stuff. Each area would obviously have a certain background and different music that could also change as you approach a boss. Honestly, so many ideas could be taken into consideration with a Story Mode, and it would really add a lot of personality to the game. A lot of the ideas in the story mode could also be implemented in the classic mode by lowering the difficulty but increasing the fun factor. This way, there is less of a focus on RNG and players would also be encouraged to play the story mode to increase the variety of levels. Of course, this is probably a lot and probably too complicated, but my main focus is on the Story Mode itself being implemented into the game. Thanks for reading.
