Right now, Fortnite Battle Royale is currently running a gamer-themed season with the tagline "Game Changers", featuring iconic gaming franchises like Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Man, Pac-Man and Crash Bandicoot to name a few!
As such season continues to whip up retro nostalgia, it's about time that I give you a glimpse of what Candy Crush Saga themed cosmetics for Fortnite would look like…but only in written textual descriptions.
Outfits
I imagined Candy Crush-themed variants of three existing Fortnite outfits.
- Sweet Yeti Guff, a version of Guff (a fluffy fantasy humanoid creature who is a friend of Skye) who has light, cream-colored fur to resemble Mr. Yeti.
- Brite Misty, a version of the unicorn-loving Brite Bomber who becomes an ardent fan of Misty the Unicorn! She even gets the option of putting on a Misty mask for a more complete look!
- Candy Kingdom Zoey, a version of the sweet green-haired candy-loving Zoey who dyed her hair blonde and dressed herself in pink to resemble Candy Crush's lead heroine, Tiffi.
Back Blings/Pets
Don't trek far across the island without slinging these sweeties across your back!
- One sweet Back Bling you should consider bringing with you is the almighty Color Bomb. It's always nice to have one in hand when the crushing gets tough!
- Or you can wear Didi, Denize's daughter, right on your back, for a little good luck.
- And who can resist having Odus the owl perch on your back? He might give you some smart insights on what to do next.
The interesting thing about wearing Odus on your back is that if you also equip him as a Glider (more on that below), he can seamlessly jump off the perch off your back for you to grab his talons in mid-air so that you can hang onto him as he glides you down to earth.
Gliders
You always need a safe way down to the island when you drop from the Battle Bus, and Candy Crush Saga's friends can offer you a way to ride down in sweet style.
- Misty can be your first choice for a sweet glider. You can saddle up on this unicorn gal and ride her down to earth in a bright stream of colors to (maybe) make everyone around you blush.
- Or you can take her pegasus boyfriend Minty and ride him into your impending battle below. His little gliding wings make your ride look awesome.
- And then there's Denize. Yes, you can hang from her thin arms and get some good luck on your next drop from the Lady of Lemonade Lake! She glides and undulates through the air as if she was playfully swimming underwater in her lake.
- Lastly, Odus can also use his little wings to help you float all the way down when you hang from his talons. If you equipped him as a pet, he'll seamlessly jump off his perch for you to grab his talons to hang on to him on your way down.
Pickaxe
The only good CCS-themed pickaxe I could imagine for Fortnite would be that iconic lollipop hammer you'd use to smash obstacles. It's great for harvesting things to build your defenses, or just smashing through what blocks your way when you need to escape the constantly encroaching storm.
Wraps
And lastly, you can customize all the items you pick up by re-coloring them with wraps representing any of Candy Crush's six crushable candies - the red jellybean, the orange caramel, the yellow lemon drop, the green bubblegum square, the blue lollipop, or the purple jujube. Or you can wrap your items in the brown, color-studded almighty color bomb.
