I would like for someone to help me understand how to start the new halloween game

I prefer 3 hour color bomb over 1h unlimited life, 1h unlimited life cant do much without boosters !
Many times at Tiffi’s beach game contests , I wondered if I should aim for 3rd place to get 3h color bomb. But I ended up coming at 1st place.Especially that time, I wanted to finish at 3rd place but in the meantime I wanted a new highscore so I couldnt stop playing !
