Stop Running Ads without Option to Close

I can bear with 5 sec advertisements and longer ads as long as Candy Crush gives me the option to shut it down after 5 sec if I am not interested. But forcing me to watch long ads without option to close is really grating and mars the whole fun experience. I understand the need for revenue from ads but without your game followers you have no audience. There must be a fine balance.

l have been abroad playing candy crush what a pleasure to watch ads mostly 6 seconds odd 30seconds no gambling, sleazy ads, come back all 30 second ads l have one ad that was taken of my game & some seems to have appeared again that is 41 seconds long l am having all ads some how from the Apple Store were when it finishes it opens the App Store for you to download it then you wait another 5 seconds to turn the ad off which does not work all the time so you wait again for the cross to appear again, it is so frustrating where does the privacy come in this. I don’t mind watching the ads as they help my game as l play the game for fun or used to be & do not pay to play. Does anyone know how l stop apple ads l do not want?

If you understand consumer marketing behavior, a well executed succinct 5-sec or even up to a tolerable 15sec ad can achieve the desired objectives of reach & awareness more effectively vs a tedious ad format of 30sec . Overlong advertisements without option to close not only have the reverse effect as they elicit audience frustration & annoyance resulting in negative brand perception & damage advertisers’ reputation as ad marketing research has shown. Where I used to tap play on the ads all the time previously I no longer even bother to do so in case I get stuck with an unskippable ad. One less potential pair of eyeballs in your captive audience numbers, albeit perhaps insignificant in the game developer’s view. In addition the game developers seem to be accepting all kinds of ads without audit/quality control in pursuit of revenues targeting anyone & everyone regardless of audience suitability, which is very disappointing. I’ve come across sleazy ads, gambling ads, ads that appear more like a scam (eg. testimonial ads that are currently running claiming players won hundreds of thousands of dollars in like 2 weeks playing a game). As a platform medium with access to thousands & thousands of eyeballs from the young to the old a level of social & moral responsibility to your audience should be exercised. Or probably not because it seems generating revenue is more important over everything else. That’s my take, anyone else can agree to disagree.

If you could close every advert after 5sec then why would advertisers bother to advertise with Candy Crush?

Not everyone has adverts, so they will always have an audience.
