Had the same experience as @Peter_Tornaros a few weeks ago- the candy necklace vanished from my game for about an episode and a half. I assumed it was King getting even tighter and forcing players to pay for more boosters. Perhaps this is one of their "features" they are always "testing".
Speaking of features that are always being tested- still no chocolate box or episode race in my game. How many more tests of this need done before it is decided to be rolled out to all players or none? Vaccines for the coronavirus were developed, tested and rolled out in less than a year, yet the brains trust at King still can't work out how to provide all players with equal access to features, which involves what... a couple of lines of coding?

I don't think there is any benefit for KING from the current players that reached the top. There must be quite a few that do not ascribe to pay for play. So, lets increase the level of difficulty to such a point, where boosters are needed, depleting our GB's and "stock".
Judging by the net revenue for Q1 - Q3 ($609m, $635m, $652m), there has been a steady growth, also over the last few years. The lowest quarter since 2017, was $498m. I understand it is a business, but greed should not be part of the business.
They have to grow revenue and it looks like the only way open for them is to increase the difficulty level, since more and more players are nearing or reaching the 10K level.
For many players I suppose 10k is a sense of achievement and KING seems to be preying on that. Players also aspire to reach the top, and with that, bragging rights. Again, those beady little eyes sees $$$$.
At one point entry into the games will dwindle, and with that, revenue.
They are also alienating players at the top, but I suppose they are willing to risks a few quitting.
If you are really addicted, there is solution, restart. That however will play into the hands of KING, since advertisers can then be shown increase in new entries.
So it is between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Important more than ever if you play on multi devices, platforms/versions, browsers. Things are working together/not working together differently. Really quite intriguing. Sync it, sync it real good.
The new levels release this week as many have stated was on the booster hungry side.

The whole bloody game is in a testing phase (testing the nerves/patience of everyone playing it, that is).
