why doesn't life's go away after giving them to people on candy crush saga

I give life's to people in candy crush saga and after leaving the game I come back to the game and I can't give them again they're still checked it never did this before how do I correct this and I have a friend but I can't add her on my friend list please help me

    You can only send lives to your friends once a day, so maybe this is why? 

    If you don't see your friend in your list, maybe see if she can see you? I don't think its possible to add people, so have you tried searching by name in the little pop up inbox that you have?
