candy crush app crashes during play

While playing candy crush, the screen blacks out and game is ended before completing it. Also, when open new level screen blacks out and a life is lost and has been going black with just one move left before game is completed. Locks up sometimes when playing and must shut down iPad and reopen game again. Last updated app in December and that is when problem began. Lives do not sync between iPhone and iPad. Everything else is same as far as gold bars, etc. please advise
