Have you tried to log out and re-enter your account after deselecting the badge from the settings? If that doesn't work, try turning off the device as well.

Try it this way. Disable the badge / banner from the settings and try to pass a level, to me it has disappeared.

Hello @StefB some people gained a milestone banner before the Milestone Badge Feature was introduced. For these people the Milestone Badge switch only turns off the banner received after the feature was gained.
That is, if you received a banner for level 1000, but didn't have the Milestone Badge feature if you received a banner and the Milestone Badge feature for level 2000 then when you use the feature to turn off the banner it will only turn off the level 2000 banner and not the level 1000 banner.

Play any level, win or lose. This should reset your banner :)

None of it worked. I even deleted the app and reinstalled it. Every time I start the app it's present alltough the milestone banner option is set off. Many of my friends don't have banners. Not sure what device they use. I use a windows desktop .

I think it's a software issue. Most facebookplayers got rid of the banners, other not.
