I hope they gave them back! I had this happen to me...I had a TON of gold, game advantages, etc...and was in the 2000 level. I backed everything up but when I played it on my new phone (yes, i logged in), it took me down to level one and I lost all my stuff!
I emailed tech support (i even had screenshots with dates) and they said there was nothing they could do...just start over! 😳
