I agree 100%. I just finished a 14 win streak and I got 40 coins for first place. It sounds like there are different amounts of gold bars for different players.

The difference for first place in the Episode Race is due to the recent introduction of the Champions Race.
Doondie's screenshot shows that they have reached the Champions Race and I guess this explains the 55 gold for first place.

I just had a 14 game winning streak and never got more than 40 bars. I understand bringing in new things, but they shouldn't cut back prizes for things that already exist.

To be honest @kwalker2 I don't mind them changing existing things as long as it makes sense. So for me the change I really object to is the change to the Weekly Contest. It makes no sense at all to offer so much for the first place and comparatively so little for second and third places.
The thing to remember about the Episode Race though, and I suspect the Weekly Contest, is that the only person that wins anything is you. That is, the Episode Race isn't live and all the people you are 'racing' against are just placeholders. So when you finish second (for example) and collect the five gold no one else wins anything.
To get the 55 gold bars for your Win Streak you will have to complete 60 levels and never lose the Episode Race during those 60 levels.
That said I miss the old days.

Yep, mine is gone too. It happens occasionally, and it’s annoying every single time. Hopefully they’ll bring it back quickly. I’ll stop playing altogether if it’s gone.

Yes, I have also noticed this just in the last week or so. Am pretty peeved about it too. Taking things away as a "reward" for coming so far (almost 4000 level)? Am extremely disappointed they are doing this and other things to turn people off. Am looking for other games to play because of this. It's like so many companies nowdays if you sign up for new service, they give you all sorts of 'goodies' and bonuses - not so much if you've been a loyal and regular customer. :-(

I found this out yesterday. Thought I was about to get 45 Gold Bars so I used 20 to get finish first in the episode race for the win. When I started playing the episode race indicated that I was in the lead. Sadly after using my Gold Bars to finish first, or so I thought, I get 5 Gold Bars when a player miraculously finished before me which did not show up in the until I finished even after checking before used my boosters. Runner-ups in these events should receive at least half of the rewards for their efforts.
For the weekly contest I am never competing against my friends and there is always some unknown player who is always in the lead. Here again the rewards for 2nd and 3rd place are the same and much less 🤔

Wow @Colleen12 that is shocking, and I didn't think it was possible for that kind of thing to happen in the Episode Race.
In my Weekly Contest I only ever compete against people that are in my friends list, but I know that this isn't the case for everyone. Not sure why it wouldn't be the same for everyone to be honest as why do we need friends list otherwise. When it comes to disparity between rewards the one colour bomb for coming second or third in the Weekly Contest as compared to the bundle of boosters you get for coming first really takes the biscuit.

I don't have this race anymore I never had the Royale . I play on windows and just finished level 12861. Some of yall are lucky to have access to make gold bars. Not me.
