at what point did you think it had become acceptable to add near impossible levels

I am currently on level 2699 and it will be my last as my patience is exhausted.

I am sick of border line impossible levels and wasting weeks in a few cases passing them.

The market is awash with games that can be played. You would do well to remember that next time you're considering making levels ridiculously difficult as you are far more likely to lose players than generate extra revenue
