Why do some players not receive gifts and events?

Currently I've received NONE of the birthday gifts, I also see a big list of players on your Facebook page complaining of the same.
I also never received the Candy Cup event recently. And have noticed other events not available in the past too.
I've played for many years, I've passed the 5000 levels mark, on occasions I BUY game packs...
Please explain why some of us are treated poorly?
(And yes the game is fully updated and saved/logged in)

Well I didn't receive a single 'gift/reward' this past week... not one!
Why are the developers not answering questions like this?
It's unfair that some players have an unfair advantage, its bad enough we cannot enter certain events too!
I've played for 10 years! and on occasions I buy boost/packs as I believe investment in games is important.... yet I don't qualify for gifts and events?
