I just did all you suggested, made a new account through the game with the same email from my Facebook account, and it still sent me back to level one.
Iβll keep an eye on everything and hope King fixes this issue.

I could try, I guess. But how will that sync my progress with what is considered progress via FB?
Also, you wrote: "...first change your King email through their website". I tried this and it made no difference.
