I play through Facebook on my laptop, I've completed this & will wait for the reward on Feb 1st. My question is will I be able to claim my share of the gold there or will it be another fiasco like with the party boosters which I couldn't claim after winning?

If you're done and haven't taken any screenshots so far, then you can't take the badge. You could always borrow someone else's screenshot with no personal touch in it. Just include your game ID, in case @QueenB needs to confirm it. You can later post again when you receive your reward, even though it's after the deadline.
