I swiped between apps to check my DoorDash status and when I came back all of the candies had new images and I couldn’t tell what was what anymore

Welcome to the forum! 👋
This is a known bug. In order to avoid getting it in the future, don't keep the game running in the background for a prolonged period of time. Instead, close it and then start it again when you're done with your other activities. Restarting the game will resolve the visual bug. It won't, however, restore any level win streak you might have had or save an ongoing Candy Royale run.
