I had over 1050 gold saved up for the later levels. Now my account is only showing like ~60. Is there a way to tell what happened?

Did you have an iPhone before getting a new iPhone? If this is the case, I can explain what happened but it's irrelevant to this topic unless OP also has two iPhones.
I purchased 30 gold bars by “upgrading the pig”. I had 4 to start. (Total 34) I used 10. And now it says I have 4. Where are the other 20? I have been only playing on King
I just got a new phone and the sync process went so well, not only did I get all my gold and progress, I also got the boosters, unexpectedly. In fact I got MORE boosters than I had on the old phone. Can anyone explain that? I'm not complaining, especially since I was always under the impression your boosters are stored on your device and won't transfer to your new one, but I am baffled. To get 61 UFOs instead of 25, out of nowhere, well that was something! I'm not complaining, of course, but clearly the game does what it wants!

Welcome to the forum! 👋
I'm not aware of an existing issue where only progress is transferred. Your progress, as well as gold bars and friends are saved on the game server, provided you have a game account (created via Facebook login or King account) so everything should've synced, not just one component.
How were you logging into your game account on the old device - via Facebook login or King account?
What about the new device - did you start playing on it before syncing your progress; did you have another account with only 60 gold bars on it?
I switched phones and maybe the gold did not make it over to the new cell phone. I can check. The progress does seem to have come over. Is there a know challenge when moving to a new phone?

If you play on mobile, check if the game app is properly connected to your Facebook or King account. If it is, try disconnecting the game from your account, restart the app, connect it back and see if that helps.
Your Gold Bars and your game progress should always be backed up as long as you have connected the game app to the right account.

I noticed that there is only like ~60 left now. Is there a way to tell where it went to. It’s something i had been saving up for a long time.
