Licorice falls faster than it can be cleared. i.e. Fish may eat it and another one fills the space immediately. Even a couple of double colourbomb combos did nothing.

I follow that blog. You should too, and may see that the level she plays is different; an extra move as well as two extra floats on the side (which incidentally save her on the last move). Apart from that, she has an incredibly lucky board - I counted six colourbombs forming on one move. So King has buffed a level that Ms Cookie admits you have to "hope for the best". It has nothing to do with luck when the game is rigged to make it impossible (until perhaps you pay).
