Candy Crush saga freezes after each level is won - restart loses gift lives

For the last two days, Candy Crush Saga freezes after a level is completed.  The screen goes white and everything clocks.  I can go to dreamworld, but that just clocks after the owl pulls down the screen.  Closing the browser and reopening will reset, but I lose all the gift lives.

    This has been happening to me too, for the past 2-3 weeks.  Tried Chrome, IE and also Safari, same problem on them all. Is it that King don't want players to keep gifted lives?  Or am I just cynical ? Why no feedback from King Tech team?

    It is still not resolved. The issue also occurs when you spend the 5 lives - then again, it freezes and you can't use the gift lives.
