I have completed level 1070 but cannot continue. Unable to "Ask Friends" OR "Unlock Now". I can see the next levels in color but they show no numbers. Can also see friends and where they are ahead of me. I play on my iPad and there are no updates I need from the the App Store at this time.

Can you post a screenshot of the map screen you can see, the roadblock part. It's strange because it sounds like you need to update the app, but like you said you're up to date. The options to ask friends etc, are they blocked out, how does it look, show me and maybe I can help
