Why is my events tab empty?

I’ve been playing Candy Crush for a while having recently passed level 12,000 not that long ago.

There have been the occasional glitches now and then, but today I experienced an extremely disappointing round of game.

I played a full 15 levels only to find that my events tab remained empty the entire time except for the booster wheel. I made no progress on any of the current events in play. Not only that, but it was as if I was starting from square one for each round. I received no benefit from my long-standing unbroken wind streak. The upshot was that I had to use an unacceptable level of high value boosters, i.e. UFOs and party blasters, to maintain my win streak.

I know it’s my account because my level progress, friends tab, and number of gold bars are all correct.

I’ve checked to make sure I have the latest update of the app. I’ve also rebooted the app and also rebooted my iPhone 13. Nothing seems to work.

I enjoy the game quite a bit, but I won’t be playing it again until this issue is fixed. Can someone please explain what’s happening???

It needs someone far cleverer than me @vcipollone to answer the question of why King do not resolve any of their issues faster than they do. Personally I don't believe any issue related to software programming should take longer than three days to fix. I can only guess that based on the paucity of quality control and the amount of time that it takes King to resolve issues that they have caused themselves that King do not employ enough programmers and are relying on level editor software to create new levels.

One caveat to all this is that I am not convinced that the missing Events is a problem that needs fixing and instead I think it is a deliberate change by King.

King has shown in the past, Fantastic Five being an example, that they are willing to experiment with software changes in a live fashion. That is, they make unannounced changes to the game that they release to a random player base to test upcoming changes.

I believe the missing Events is one such test. This would explain both why it is taking them so long to fix the issue and why in my game the issue changed from having to play old levels to having to play new levels.

Never has a truer word been written @Alienscar. I opened the game a few hours after my last post here to find only a lonely booster wheel in my events tab…. yet again. Given the revenues pouring in from the game, why hasn’t King addressed this major issue faster and communicated what they intend to make good for affected players? Deeply disappointing indeed.

I am glad that your game is back to 'normal' again @vcipollone. I hope it continues. If other posts are anything to go by you will probably find that you might need to force your Events to appear on a semi-regular basis.

Thanks for the response. I never thought to replay an old level. My events tab was still empty this morning but after reading your post I gave it a shot. After one old level, everything was back (except for the gold bars and extra boosters I ‘wasted’ by not having the game recognise my win streak). Thanks again!

Sorry to hear that @vcipollone. At the moment there is an issue affecting a lot of people that causes their Events to be missing. In my case this means I am left with just my Booster Wheel and Sweet Cinema. At the start of the issue all I had to do was play an old level and all my Events reappeared. Towards the end of last week something changed and instead of playing an old level I had to play new levels to make Events reappear.

The fact that your Events have not returned even after playing new levels might indicate a couple of things. The first is that the issue is just getting worse. The second is that it could indicate that King are working on the problem, but they have inadvertently made it worse.
