Are you talking about the pop-ups that tell you about the features, etc.,? If so, those are "Tutorials", and there is no way to turn them off!!
Hints are the "suggestions" that game tells us to which candies to move in our next turn. Only this setting can be turned off.
This discussion thread is very old and some of the things doesn't pertain to current game. Hence, I will close this thread now.

Nope, the hints are relentless we are on lvl 713 and they still appear and annoy us to the point of making us want to try to make a move before they appear, which is almost impossible when this high in lvls
Hints usually only appear for a while after a fresh install or if you actually are new. They should disappear on their own pretty soon. Cheers :)
