Why is it that I keep on sending lives to so called friends and hardly ever receive any lives in return to me it's trying to increase their levels and can't if that's the case I'm just going to stop sending them lives.

Sending lives to other players is a choice made by any player, and you sound like a very generous player who is helping others. Unfortunately we can't force anyone to send lives, but hopefully you can find others in the Discussion area who you can add and who can send you lives instead.
