why won't my milestone badge update? I went back and played the level before and the level that was to be updated too and it still didn't change it

Have you tried restarting the game or the device? It could also help to log out and back in again.
Other than that it's always recommended to check that you're on the latest version of the game so that you have the latest features and fixes.
