I think they changed the troll. Now you need 2000 orange candies instead of 2500. The rewards look a little different also.

Thanks for the tip. I normally ignore the event now and hadn't noticed. This change is definitely a good one: I did give it a go today thanks to your post and beat the troll easily both within the time allocated and with just playing one episode. It's now worth playing for again.
I needed 1800 orange candies in new levels to get me: 1 lollipop hammer 1 UFO 3 free switches 15 minutes colour bomb 1 striped and wrapped I've got the needed candy in 18 minutes but it was in my new game where I'm only at level 800something. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to collect that many orange candies in my old game where I'm at over 17.000 levels. And the rewards aren't even worth it if I'd have to spend a lot of gold an boosters on passing.
I think so I wish that would change also.
2000 is still beyond reach. I gave it try. When the time is up, I was still short of 300 orange candies.

Since the past few weeks I don't get the extra game boosters before starting a level and at the end if the level is not cleared
