if you say so. It was King who left the “trick” in. In fact it can be used in any game like it. It was some tech savvy players who found it out. They reported it to King when they found it. If King really didn’t want us to use it they would have taken it out.
Revealed it in another comment
King know about all the tricks and cheats, I am pretty sure of it. Most of them are integral parts of how the app functions and therefore King cannot fix them. So the fact they don't want us to share them does not mean they don't know what tricks players use. It is a censorship issue, that's what I meant.
true
Goodness me @KAP478 How did you find that thread? I've been here since 2022 and I am amazed that this old thread still exists and apparently has not been closed or made "read only". It is definitely one that slipped through the net. It dates from before all the changes, and makes me quite nostalgic. Those were the days when this community was alive and the game was fun. All those tips are so outdated now as the game is so different from how it was back in 2019-2021. It just hurts me to read about tips on how to deal with chocolate….. WHAT chocolate? I ask in 2025. Sugar drops… level 666 and 1476…..oh my God, those were the days! The level resetting without losing a life if you quit without playing… oh I do remember that trick as well. Just keep quitting the level until your special candies were side by side (i.e. it was a lucky board). Hey ho, all that was written out of the game long ago. Definitely a sad nostalgic thread to read and mourn the old days of a fun game we used to love and a community of players who wrote about something positive once in a while. I wonder if there is still a single person left here who contributed to that thread. I think they've all long quit.
I've read almost every comment on that thread now and I can honestly say that apart from that one post you highlighted by Chantelle, non of the advice given would still work in 2025. I guess now you've alerted King by posting it here that thread might finally disappear altogether. The "just quit, reshuffle the board and don't lose a life" trick certainly did not survive for very long after players posted about it in the "share you tips" thread.
Yes. It certainly fell through the cracks. I knew it was on here. I simply typed in the search box of the threads/posts. Clock trick or something like it. The trick still works so why not take advantage of it so you don’t pay more money into the game. You’re right. I miss the old days you could just leave the board and go back in to get the candies to change. I still have an old version that still lets you do that. I’m sure some players did stop playing. I myself did stop for years. I was stuck at the low 400’s when it was much harder and the boards had bombs or the boards themselves were timed. What insanity those 2 types of boards. Bombs with limited moves or timed levels to get a certain high score especially if you’re trying to get the 3rd star. Just a year ago I got back on playing the game and the king community. I was in the 400’s now in the 800’s. Shooting for the 1,000 level on the 2 candy crush games I play. Now I play an episode or 2 a week. I don’t go further until I get all 3 stars within the episode then continue.
In fact I did like the timed levels. I know though that most players hated them so I guess King were right to get rid of them. I remember one timed level that would play endlessly, there used to be +5 candies dropping near the end, giving us an added 5 seconds, and if you played the level right these would keep dropping and exploding in endless cascades for minutes. I used to occasionally have to watch the screen to tap on a colour bomb to get it going again, but I played for half an hour or an hour like that collecting whatever needed to be collected. That was quite fun.
I did like the timed ones, but not if it was on the hard and very hard difficulties. The other difficulties like nightmarishly hard ones didn’t exist yet
That was level 252. I still remember scoring millions of points but unfortunately, we can't see the scores any more.
