Why am I not receiving lives from friends last period?

That's the age-old question. I've seen a lot of posts on here saying the same thing. I'm really not sure but I'm having the same issue. I went into my friends list and sent requests targeted at those that I see have sent lives in the past. That seemed to have helped. I go into the friends list, click on the icon next to my friend's name then you'll see a request live/ send live buttons. I send a live and request a life and that has produced some results.
