Saw a screenshot of someone playing a new boss level where you have to open up what appears to be a carnivorous plant to set a character free for the post-2025 All Stars springtime event.
What kind of level is this? What are all those plants called?

Right. You need to complete three laps to win the game. One lap is equal to four episodes (60 levels).
When I mention three laps, I mean the bronze, silver, and gold chests. Four or more laps will award a gold chest each lap.
42 days? Spring Doublemint storm came true in the worst way haha.
Seriously though, that would take it weeks into "summer" season. They must have just put a longer than needed timer on it or they really hate some players.
That's an interesting event, particularly when it's happening during the Year of the Snake, an animal that closely resembles a carnivorous plant.

It's the same as the hateful aliens, volcanoes or chewing gum disguised as plants, they seem eternal to me and I hate them to death.
I'm not seeing it either, for now. Hopefully I will be spared this time.

Based on past incarnations of this event, it is much longer than 60 levels. After you complete it once, it repeats itself over and over. Starting with Replay 3, you are rewarded with a UFO every four episodes, but some of those special levels require a UFO to pass. Although the special levels are finite, there are quite a few of them. The event cannot be just ignored like other unwanted events because it directly interferes with your game by replacing the last level in each episode, which is usually the easiest, with garbage. It would be not that bad if it were a week-long event, but it's long and gets old quickly. And it keeps getting longer.

I think MannyFae is referring to the fact that no matter how many times you complete the 60 levels, the event keeps repeating until 42 days are up. And it is an unwanted event.

It's only 60 levels long. Most players can complete four episodes in a day or two.
42 days?? I won't last that long. I so hate these events that replace levels on the map.
The levels you just saw are Petal Peril levels. Allow me to explain the situation.
There are four characters you need to rescue, with each one every 15 levels.
If you collect all four characters (complete 60 levels) within the next six weeks (42 days), you will win the bonus treasure. You can play one or two episodes a day and finish it within a few days.
