Super charger: is it worth keeping?

I have long suspected that the super charger is the latest way in which King manipulate our game play.

Today it showed up in my main game. It now only takes 4 levels to pass to charge it up. Has anyone else found that the levels to charge it up are always exceptionally easy? Once charged I have also found that the first few levels are lucky boards. Typically within the first few levels of gaining the super charger we get double colour bomb combos. Then further down the episode, depending on which level range we are at, there will be levels in which the super charger is not helping to pass, but which still require players to pay gold bars or play a UFO to pass those levels.

I wonder if others have made similar observations, of if it is just me.

In the levels in the 1000s I have found the super charger let me zoom through levels without even thinking what moves I played, so I think it is different for other level ranges.

So this is a different player, new to the game since April and starting episode level 1536 today. The super charger showed up as well as Candy Royale at the start of the episode. I was given a gift of timed colour bomb starting boosters and ads showed up as well. The game is trying to nudge me along to keep playing after I had stopped for a few days out of boredom.

Every level was super easy to pass, including the one legendary level, and for many all I had to do was follow the moves the game suggested right down to the very last move. It's easy to believe that the super charger was helping pass the levels, but they were so easy I doubt I would have needed it for any of these levels. The petal peril level required extra moves, but the standard levels were all far too easy to pass with the super charger enabled, some only needed two moves to finish.

Near the start of the next episode "nightmarishly hard" level 1552 I failed, despite the super charger and win streak boosters. I decided to let the super charger go. On my second attempt I passed the same level super easily with 7 moves spare despite having no super charger nor win streak boosters! This is a prime example of how the game is manipulating players into wasting boosters, gold and money by nudging us into trying to keep that win streak and super charger going at all costs. Beware of this.

I am still getting the Super Charger and I like keeping it at my current level 18921. I find I use less Boosters / Gold Bars to pass levels when the charger is available. If I can use the hand switch to get two together I will definitely do this to avoid using Gold for extra moves. If I find I am using more to keep it, I will simply let it go, but for now, it works for me. Have a great day everyone😊

I think they are very mean with super chargers for players at the end of the map. I'm not sure if I've ever seen it there, to be honest. I know that cookiemae never gets it. Ever thought of starting a second game @Nobody1 ? It seems to be the thing to do around here these days!

My current strategy is to basically ignore the Super Charger, except when playing Candy Royale. I'm more of a hoarder than win streak keeper.

Keeping the bomb used to work well enough for me last year, when I used to have ads. Now, I no longer hold onto the Super Charger and let go of it easily.

I have noted that at least one of the four levels required to obtain the Super Charger is usually troublesome. It's not typical for me to get two color bombs side by side, they tend to be placed far apart, and very often in the past couple of months I had to give up on the Super Charger on the very next or subsequent level. Luckily, that seemed to change yesterday. The first few boards after getting the Super Charger were lucky, and it oddly coincided with King turning ads on again for me 🙂

If your goal is to hoard gold bars and boosters, I suspect you are right that you should let go of the supercharger. But I like having long win streaks - the game is more fun for me that way - so to me, keeping the supercharger is always worth it. It depends on your goal.

That being said, I haven't seen a supercharger since February, which has made the game less fun for me. I miss the supercharger and Candy Royale.

There is nothing to argue @christinewupp each and every feature of the game is designed to get players to spend money on boosters or gold. King do not introduce features that benefit the player. I would guess that the hand switch you receive from the Episode Race will be removed once they think they have trained you enough to understand its importance in keeping features.

My example is levels 8346 - 8360, so these are the older original levels written by humans and tweaked by AI. The super charger took four levels to charge, the first three were easy to pass, the last impossible (level 8349 down to just 15 moves is arguably impossible to pass now), so it took 10 gold bars to actually charge it. Once charged I got a lucky board on the next level even though I played some nonsense moves (just to test my theory). Then I got two colour bombs side by side on two out of the next three levels. Eventually the colour bombs were one hand switch away from one another, so I was being nudged to play this booster. Interestingly enough I also get one free hand switch now at the end of every episode race as a gift. After this there were two levels which were definite fails despite the super charger, in fact I required boosters as well as 5 extra moves to keep it. The last level was a petal peril one and again a hand switch would have brought the super charger colour bombs side by side.

In total I made 7 gold bars in that episode race. I would not think this was the best strategy to play this episode. I would have been better to let go of the super charger and win streak and replay those levels. The benefit is just an illusion, created by King to make us spend gold in order to keep it and keep our win streak going at all cost. Anyone wish to argue otherwise?

Level 14390 impossible to pass
This level is simply impossible to pass. I've hit it as part of the concert chaos event and as with all levels to get a band member in this event, it's impossible without using loads of boosters or spending gold for extra moves. This is ridiculous and just makes the game boring. I feel like I've been stuck on it for weeks…
