Hi everyone!
I can confirm that the selection for opponents in the Weekly Contest is randomized. You can either end up in the same pool as players from a similar or not similar skill/level group and/or location.
It will depend and it varies from player to player and we cannot confirm what each player's particular case is, due to it being a randomized selection.

Thanks for trying. The fast response time in itself is indicative of the amount of thought and research gone into that incorrect answer. I shall continue my quest to spread the truth here in the community as is my right given the evidence I have. It's quite insulting really, given that we know it's not random. Maybe they need to look up the mathematical and scientific definition of "random" before making hasty statements.

Hello @PrettyBubbles I would like to say the same as Alienscar here: I have made extensive studies of the Weekly Contest event and in fact just this week I have exactly the same players as opponents in two different unrelated accounts and have posted about it here:

In these three threads I have amassed incontestable evidence that the Weekly Race is definitely NOT random in its player allocation. All of the players are always new players. Every week one player is really strong, two others are strong enough to make me work hard to get onto the podium and the remainder are beginners who stopped playing before the race started. This has been so since the beginning of 2025 and the answer you gave above is therefore not correct. This event was changed early in 2025.
We do get a lot of questions about this and never quite know how to answer them, so I agree with @Alienscar that an official explanation of just how this event works and WHY every single player only gets newbie opponents who have just started playing would be welcome. @QueenB

For a long time now there has been no randomness shown in the Weekly Contest and every week only players that have just started the game or have played less than two hundred levels are chosen as opponents.
Due to the way that the Contest works there is no way that the players chosen are random.
Hi my friend yes all players that join us in events are randomly chosen by king so it can be a mixture of where they are on the map but I do get your thoughts and thank you for your feedback 💓
