Please note that moderators will have to use their wording carefully because they do represent King, but nonetheless moderators are players just like ourselves. So it's not easy to balance the two out when replying to posts like yours. I'm not a King representative and: Of course it's a trick by King, the whole game is a scam really. By the time you get to within the last five moves or so you will have one of these outcomes already determined by the game:
1. You pass if you make the right moves
2. You pass if you play the right booster(s) or
3. You will have to pay for more moves (or play a party popper plus maybe more boosters)
Number 3 is the algorithm that you were meant to have and that was written into these last five levels for you. The glitch here is not that the dragon did not drop. The glitch is that the game computed a cascade that made it end up above the exit. This was not meant to happen, you were not meant to see this! So yes, it's a scam alright.
I can totally understand your frustration @decoydisasta! That's how I too feel when I lose levels with "Oops" pop-up🙃

What you have experienced is a glitch but not a scam! I am sorry to know that your game experienced this glitch!
Our Community In-charge team and the game Studio team has a list of levels to fix this glitch! I will pass on your level as well for them to fix it.
If you have spent any Gold bars on the level, I would suggest you to contact King Player Support team and report the issue! I am not sure if your items will be restored or not, but you can try🤔
