I am not sure I understand your question, but I will try to explain. When you tap on one of the boosters in your inventory, it becomes highlighted and activated for use. You can then tap a candy on your board where you want the booster to be applied. If you don't want to use the booster immediately, tap it a second time to deactivate it. The UFO booster works differently -- once you tap it, it immediately sends 3 UFOs onto your board to help you clear that board, so be sure you are ready to use it because it can't be deactivated.
