I've used 10 coins 3 separate times to get the 20 minute unlimited life for passing a round (with the train) and it's not working. Please help! I'm out 30 coins/60 minutes unlimited life. ☹️

The train has been changed for a lot of us, and the unlimited lives have been replaced with yet another timed booster. Take note of what your train offers next time you see it. If you are indeed offered unlimited lives but do not receive them, take a screenshot and contact Player Support via the app.
