Fun new version of Candy Crush: How to fail a level

I mean it! I've just discovered a fun new way to play Candy Crush. Not wanting to enter the Candy Cup round too early I've noticed that it's possible to earn striped candies for the Factory Frenzy event by playing and failing a new unplayed level. And this works! It really works. Moreover, it's actually fun.

And hey, does it teach you a lot about this game!

I was surprised but it was easy enough for me to pass on my third attempt. Each of my three attempts I managed to get the keys really early, so it seems they've made this level easier……for the time being.

Wow, it's an interesting level to study indeed. I'm very interested to know if those who pass it as a new level receive different boards than those of us who scroll down, for this level in particular. When a player recently asked about it, I gave it a try. I had a fairly good attempt that progressed well, but then I had four moves to drop out the last dragon and was unable to do it.

I'm guessing ten tries. To be honest, I have no idea 🙂

OMG I take it all back! Here I was fretting about having to start this episode just before dinner and I get this level!

It's the one I myself have advised on several times, so I know this one well. @MannyFae look I even got the last key in good time here, playing only starting boosters. I followed your advice to make matches next to the wrap boxes of course.

Any luck?

I think not….Not a stripe, wrap, colour bomb or combo in sight throughout all those 26 moves!

It's a nice one to study. Any bets on how long it will take me to pass this one with only starting boosters?

It's a trickier game than you would think!

Yesterday I failed repeatedly just to get my UFOs from the Factory Frenzy event. I was up to +135 extra moves. This morning I was trying to actually pass the level to play one new episode but found that the "luck" factor seemed to have reset overnight and I was starting with impossible to pass boards again. There is a frog on it and I like frog levels. It comes in handy in this one to get the toffees sitting above the fish bopper. I gave up after five attempts and did some more fun things. (Lots of gardening and I bought some new flowers for my borders)

This evening I decided to give it another go and I was unable to fail! I was playing this board.

I am distraught. I could not fail and I didn't even get to use the frog!

There were just no available moves to make that would fail here. I tried those three blues at the top, but….

No chance. Oh I hate these algorithms. They don't even let us lose when we want to. Is there anything we players can actually do to have some control over these level outcomes?

Very interesting! I never even considered that it might be AI. Very clever @christinewupp! A few years ago it had to be the same thing with the Friends game. It was their Dachs' event and it was stuck in a loop. I was told to keep playing the game on all my mobile devices and ended up with like 500 of each free booster.

Nice but my account doesn't have this Factory Frenzy with UFO and Coconut wheel any longer having Lollipop Hammer and Free Switch in its place.

Honestly, it shows how much the algorithms affect our gameplay. Maybe a ‘Fail Fast, Win Big’ challenge could be a whole new community contest 👀

Friends Challenge is another event has this feature.

When the level becomes extremely easy, I sometimes have to use force closing the game to prevent passing the new level 😆

So to start off with how I won Factory Frenzy: I played the first level of the current episode, again and again. I have enough lives from friends to do this often enough to actually win the event. The reason this works is because the AI that runs the game made the fatal decision to place a nightmarishly blocker level at the beginning of episodes. I have one here, and I know I can't accidentally pass this one, because it has order locks. Not once in my 25 attempts have I cleared the final order locks. But also the AI makes levels incrementally easier for us because ultimately the game wants us to pass that first level and enter the episode race. So I get more and more striped candies with each attempt.

I know I can beat this!

It's a fun game and it works only because the AI has messed with our games, placing an impossible level at the beginning of each episode.

Well here is my prize:

It's a nice way to fill your account with UFOs while waiting to enter the knockouts.

And it teaches us so much about how the algorithms become easier and easier the longer we take to pass a level.

I'm not sure why we play to pass levels at all. It's much more challenging and more fun to try to fail levels. After all the AI lets us pass eventually. Playing to achieve a fail could be a way to use some skill and strategy again. I might try my "fail" muscles at some other levels.

⛔ Under investigation: Music event disappeared
The event had 1 day left and just disappeared! I was so close to the finish. Make it right please. Also, you can't chat with the bot on the help center of the app on Android, the bottom screen function buttons cover the text field and you can't click on it to start typing.
Not getting my deserved goldbars
I collected all the tapes in the right timeframe but did not get my 300 goldbars. That feels real unfair. Is it still possible to get them? I earned them fairly.
