The problem with gift cards is that from what we have heard in the community the game registers these the same as having made a purchase with real money, so players will lose their chance to get free boosters from watching ads after use of a gift card. The goodwill may backfire, so I would not recommend giving or using gift cards.
@Nobody1 It's not something I have tested out but there were some posts in the past which demonstrated this is indeed the case. I have not seen any recent posts, those were over a year ago, but I'd say it is unlikely to have changed.

I would be afraid to use a gift card because I would fear it might cause me to lose in game ads, since it might count as a purchase. But admittedly I don't know that - it's just a fear I would have. Can anyone confirm or deny whether using a gift card in your game will lead to a loss of ads?
